Sleeve shortening 7 cm for long sleeve men’s shirts and blouses
Individual fit for long sleeve shirts and blouses
A sleeve shortening by 7 cm is suitable when a long sleeve men’s shirt, a cotton shirt for men or a blouse fits correctly overall, but the sleeves are clearly too long. This may be due to shorter arms, narrower shoulders or a different posture.
Especially with GERMENS, it can make sense not to exchange a well-fitting garment only because the sleeves are too long. If chest width, shoulders and the overall cut are right, an individual sleeve shortening can be the better solution.
When are 7 cm recommended?
A shortening by 7 cm is already a clear adjustment. It is suitable when the cuff falls far over the back of the hand and the sleeves feel too long in everyday wear. The ideal length is approximately to the middle of the back of the hand when the arm hangs naturally down.
If in doubt, a sleeve may be slightly too long rather than too short. Sleeves that are too short can quickly look tight and may feel uncomfortable when you move.
Detach cuff, shorten sleeve, sew on cleanly again
During the alteration, the cuff is carefully detached. We then remove 7 cm of fabric from the sleeve and sew the cuff back on professionally. The alteration is carried out so that it is not visible from the outside and the high-quality finish is preserved.
With some GERMENS shirts, folding the cuff back once can also be an interesting alternative. The cuff then has a look similar to a double cuff and often reveals a colourful or patterned inside.
Further alteration options can be found in the GERMENS alteration service. Since the shortening is carried out individually for you, regular exchange and return are excluded. Statutory rights in the event of defects remain unaffected.
