TIERGESCHICHTEN feels like an artwork that tells something new every day. At first glance, it appears as a lively multicoloured pattern. On a closer look, animals, figures, hints, lines and small scenes begin to emerge, as if a colourful picture book had been translated into fabric. Some details recall childhood stories; others feel like spontaneous sketches from an artist’s studio. This is the character of the shirt: it is not only clothing, but a reason for conversation. The wearer can say that the motif keeps revealing new discoveries – and that only 99 pieces will be made worldwide.

As a colourful men’s long sleeve shirt, TIERGESCHICHTEN is shaped by green, blue, yellow and red. The colours feel fresh, creative and slightly playful without becoming arbitrary. The illustrations cover the fabric like an open visual narrative: animals, forms and lines interlock, yet remain open enough for each viewer to find their own scenes. The decisive difference to ordinary patterned shirts lies in the production method. TIERGESCHICHTEN is not a simple allover print, not repeat fabric and not a design that is merely enlarged or reduced from one size to another. At GERMENS, the print data are adjusted separately for every size. The artwork is matched precisely to the proportions of the respective size and then placed across the 21 individual pattern pieces of the shirt.

Only after that is the shirt carefully cut by hand. Front panels, back, sleeves, collar and cuffs are visually coordinated so the design forms a complete composition. This is why TIERGESCHICHTEN looks balanced from XS to 6XL. The motif does not lose its order, is not awkwardly cropped and does not look like a randomly distributed pattern. What emerges is not just another patterned men’s shirt, but a complete wearable artwork.

100% cotton, comfort and refined workmanship

TIERGESCHICHTEN is made from 100% cotton. The cotton fabric is produced in Saxony, printed separately for every size and then precisely processed. Cotton is natural, skin-friendly, breathable, odour-neutral, comfortable, durable and suitable for everyday wear. This cotton shirt for men combines the expressive impact of an artwork with the familiar comfort of a high-quality natural material.

The workmanship follows the same standard. The edges are sewn with very tight stitching, sturdy buttons are attached with a stem, and stainless steel collar stays give the Kent collar shape and stability. The GERMENS collar notch and angled cuffs add further crafted details. The result is a men’s long sleeve button-up shirt that attracts attention not only through colour, but also through cut, precision and substance.

Fit, service and care

For first-time customers, the home try-on service is a practical way to choose the right size. Several sizes can be checked comfortably at home; the service is free, with only a small deposit that is refunded or credited toward a purchase. Especially with an expressive artist-designed long sleeve shirt, the right size matters so that motif, fit and wearing comfort work together.

TIERGESCHICHTEN is available from XS to 6XL. If refinements are needed after purchase, the alteration service can help with shorter sleeves, waist adjustments, back darts or hem shortening. To preserve the colours, wash at 30 degrees, use colour detergent without bleach, add a little fabric softener if desired, avoid tumble drying and iron hot afterwards or use an ironing dummy. GERMENS produces according to demand and avoids unnecessary overproduction; sizes that are not immediately available may require several weeks of production time.

GERMENS only uses its own designs, which are only available here. For each garment – in every size from XS to 6XL – the pattern pieces are printed individually and accurately on high-quality cotton fabric.

The fabric is then finished so that the colors remain permanently brilliant, the fabric is washable, suitable for everyday use and comfortable to wear – without any unpleasant odors.

GERMENS only produces what has actually been ordered. This is very sustainable and ensures lasting value. After printing, the fabrics are cut – traditionally by hand. The skilled worker is visually guided by the design and cuts each piece individually. The result is a perfect fit in which art and cut interact perfectly.

After cutting, the many individual pieces are sewn together in a Polish family business with great care and many years of experience.
