Whoever wears VIADUKT CHEMNITZ wears a piece of Chemnitz city history. The design refers to a structure that is more than a route for traffic: the Chemnitz Viaduct, also known as Beckerbrücke. For decades, it shaped the cityscape and stood for industrial strength, technical precision, movement, connection and change. When demolition was threatened, resistance emerged from within the city’s community. This tension between construction, memory and renewal is condensed in VIADUKT CHEMNITZ as a graphic story that begins as soon as someone takes a closer look.

As a grey men’s long sleeve shirt, VIADUKT CHEMNITZ feels clear, urban and architectural. Cool shades of grey, white, black and blue give the design an almost technical elegance. Fine lines, dense structures and rhythmic forms recall bridge arches, steel beams, masonry and urban motion. A small red accent at the cuff adds warmth and visual tension. The cotton fabric is produced in Saxony and printed separately for each size.

Only after printing is the shirt carefully and precisely cut by hand. It consists of 21 individual pattern pieces, and the design is fitted exactly into each of them. Front panels, back, sleeves, collar and cuffs are visually coordinated. Especially with an architectural motif, this precision matters: lines and surfaces should not run randomly across seams, but appear as one coherent image. VIADUKT CHEMNITZ is made from 100% cotton. The fabric is produced in Saxony and combines natural material quality with comfortable wear. The workmanship supports the clarity of the design. Very tight stitching along the edges creates clean lines and precise transitions. Sturdy buttons are sewn with a stem, improving durability and ease of fastening. The Kent collar is shaped and stabilised by stainless steel collar stays. The characteristic GERMENS collar notch and angled cuffs add further crafted details that distinguish the shirt from industrial standard goods. Several sizes can be tested comfortably at home; the service is free, with only a small deposit that is refunded or credited toward a purchase. To preserve the fresh appearance and clear contrasts, wash at 30 degrees, use colour detergent without bleach, add a little fabric softener if desired, avoid tumble drying and iron hot afterwards or use an ironing dummy. GERMENS produces according to demand and avoids unnecessary overproduction; sizes that are not immediately available are made individually and may require several weeks of production time. GERMENS only uses its own designs, which are only available here. For each garment – in every size from XS to 6XL – the pattern pieces are printed individually and accurately on high-quality cotton fabric.

The fabric is then finished so that the colors remain permanently brilliant, the fabric is washable, suitable for everyday use and comfortable to wear – without any unpleasant odors.

GERMENS only produces what has actually been ordered. This is very sustainable and ensures lasting value. After printing, the fabrics are cut – traditionally by hand. The skilled worker is visually guided by the design and cuts each piece individually. The result is a perfect fit in which art and cut interact perfectly.

After cutting, the many individual pieces are sewn together in a Polish family business with great care and many years of experience. High-quality finishing details – such as finely stitched edges or buttons with handles – and fine fabrics guarantee that every GERMENS garment will give you long-lasting pleasure.
