The new Bavarian comedy Guglhupfgeschwader becomes an all-German audience favourite
At last! After a long wait and countless cases, Eberhofer gets the recognition he deserves in his tenth case. In Niederkaltenkirchen, it has been decided to christen the roundabout ‘Franz Eberhofer Roundabout’ in honour of the successful village gendarme. Unfortunately, Eberhofer now has to make sure that the brutal pursuers of the Lotto-Otto are put out of business as quickly as possible. But before he can even start investigating the Lotto-Otto case, the lottery shop blows up - and Eberhofer now has to deal with a murder case as well.
Eberhofer has his hands full again in the eighth instalment of the Heimatkrimi film series. In addition to the daily madness, he also has to deal with a brutal bill collector, a murder case and a stubborn Birkenberger.
Policeman Franz Eberhofer's investigations are made even more difficult by the fact that Rudi's new flame, the talkative Theresa, breaks up the already tense family structure. Nerves are on edge as Franz realises that his birthday is a disaster in terms of love, family harmony and crime!
This film takes things to the extreme and always leaves us laughing. For example, the plumber Flötzinger dreams of what he could do with a million-dollar lottery win. Would he build a 17-storey Flötz Tower? Or rename Niederkaltenkirchen to Flötzville?
Guglhupfgeschwader is the eighth instalment in the Heimatkrimi film series about policeman Franz Eberhofer. A new film with a different title is released every year.

The GERMENS® Equinox shirt plays with

The shirt, which was designed by the artist Rose Addams from Annaberg-Buchholz, shows the contrasts and opposing forces of black and white, yin and yang. Equinox means equinox and refers to the two calendar days of a year on which daylight and night are approximately the same length.
The character figure in the role of an unexpected lottery millionaire is brilliantly realised by the actor. Suddenly the Lamborghini becomes an everyday car, the flashy yellow suit is swapped for a plumber's outfit. ‘Guglhupfgeschwader’ with ‘Germens’ at the film nights
Big cinema premiere today - also for Saxony's cult shirt king
‘Guglhupfgeschwader’: A shirt makes its cinema premiere CHEMNITZ/DRESDEN - The crime comedy ‘Guglhupfgeschwader’ celebrates its premiere today at the Dresden Film Nights on the banks of the Elbe. One member of the audience will be watching the screen with particular attention: Shirt manufacturer René König (49) from Chemnitz. Because the German-Danish actor Daniel Christensen (43) is wearing a shirt from his ‘Germens’ artist collection in Rita Falk's Bavarian thriller.
‘Our shirts have often been seen on television with sports presenter Kai Ebel,’ says König. "But this is an absolute cinema premiere. That's why I'm so excited and why I'm coming to the preview in Dresden." In the past, König has already asked more than 30 production companies whether they would like to kit out their protagonists with ‘Germens’ shirts. But whether it was an Ore Mountain crime film or a Dresden crime scene - I never got an answer. But I did get an order from the ‘Guglhupfgeschwader’. They ordered two shirts (size M/L) called Equinox - designed by the artist Rose Addams from Annaberg-Buchholz. ‘One for the actor, one for the stuntman,’ explains König. ‘The film is supposed to be so turbulent that one shirt wouldn't have been enough.’ After all, an artist's shirt costs 228 euros.
‘Equinox’ is an eye-catching shirt in black, white, red and gold with an opulent pattern - in the film, it is worn by the heating bungler ‘Flötzinger’, who thinks he is already a lottery millionaire. ‘It emphasises the character of the film role, a braggart, a bon vivant type with a gold chain,’ laughs König. "If you wear our shirts, you can't be shy, because you're guaranteed to be approached. Let's see if that works for René König today in Dresden - he's coming to the film night in an ‘Equinox’ shirt, of course! KK

‘Guglhupfgeschwader’: A shirt makes its cinema premiere
In the new film, one of the main characters wears the Equinox model. The internet brought designer René König and costume designer together.
Bright yellow suit, black cowboy boots and a bright yellow, white and black patterned shirt. Dressed exquisitely like this, Flötzinger stands on a grassy hill in the middle of a roundabout in the Bavarian countryside and dreams of the Flötz Tower, 17 storeys high, and a castle, Chateau Flötzinger. He thinks he's won the lottery and he's already showing off the golden age to come in selected clothing.
The new Eberhofer thriller ‘Gugelhupfgeschwader’ from Constantin-Film not only stars Flötzinger actor Daniel Christensen, Lisa-Maria Potthoff as Susi and Sebastian Bezzel as Eberhofer. The Germens company also plays a part, especially the Equinox shirt.
Germens boss and designer René König was surprised when he received the call from costume designer Walter Schwarzmeier, who selects the costumes for the actors. ‘I sent a pair of trousers and a shirt, and because the shirt broke during a stunt, I sent a second one,’ König explains.
He is delighted that the Bavarian filmmakers took notice of him. His fashion is not only available in stores, but also online. And it was on the Internet that the film crew discovered it.
‘I found the shirt on the internet, it's not an everyday item,’ says head costume designer Walter Schwarzmeier. That's exactly why it suits Flötzinger, who doesn't want to start an everyday life with his lottery win and is already flying high creatively wrapped in good cloth. He then showed his internet find to the director of the film, Ed Herzog. ‘He thought it was great,’ says Schwarzmeier.

Shirt King now dreams of James Bond
Sold-out cinema premiere for the crime comedy "Guglhupfgeschwader" at the Filmnaechte am Elbufer. Among the 3600 fans of Bavarian humor: Chemnitz shirt maker René König (49) - in his artist shirt "Equinox". With just this shirt of the company Germens" and a yellow suit was also the main actor Daniel Christensen (43) on the screen (MOPO reported). Even though I didn't always understand everything, the movie was cool. Seeing my shirt on the screen was top-notch, according to König. The start has been made. The goal: "I dream of outfitting a James Bond movie one day."
