To find the perfect fit for your GERMENS belt, carefully measure the waist length. Take a measuring tape and measure the distance from the inside of the buckle to the hole you usually use, typically to the middle hole. This measured length is your ideal waist length, which the belt can be shortened to.

82 cm waist length – Belt shortened by 28 cm

If you’d like to shorten your GERMENS belt to the desired length on your own, follow these simple steps:

Loosen the Screw
Start by carefully loosening the screw on the buckle of the belt. This connection secures the leather to the buckle and needs to be removed to shorten the leather.
Trim the Leather
Cut off the excess leather on the buckle side – not on the side with the holes! It’s best to mark the leather beforehand to ensure you’re cutting the correct length.
Punch a New Hole
After trimming the leather, punch a new hole for the screw if necessary. Make sure the new hole is strong enough to hold the buckle securely in place.
Reattach the Buckle
Attach the buckle back to the leather and tighten the screw. For additional stability, you can apply a small amount of adhesive to the screw thread to prevent it from loosening.
