Side slit 15 cm for women’s blouses

Clear opening for more comfort and a looser fall

The 15 cm side slit is the most noticeable version of this alteration for women’s blouses. It is suitable when the blouse fits well at the top, but needs significantly more freedom of movement around the hips and hem. With a beautiful, feminine hip shape, a longer side slit can help the blouse fall more freely and comfortably.

A 15 cm side slit visibly changes the lower part of the blouse. The blouse appears more open, lighter and more flexible in this area. This option is useful when a 5 cm or 10 cm side slit would not provide enough ease.

How the 15 cm side slit is made

The side seam is opened upwards from the lower hem by approximately 15 cm. The opened area is then carefully trimmed. Both edges are professionally hemmed, creating a side slit with a slightly triangular shape.

The slit gives the blouse more flexibility in the lower area. When sitting, walking and turning, the blouse can fall more easily over the hips and hem. The chest, shoulders and upper fit remain largely unaffected by this alteration.

Who is the 15 cm option suitable for?

The 15 cm side slit is suitable for women who want clearly more ease in the lower part of the blouse. It can be especially comfortable when the blouse feels too closed over the hips, even though shoulders, chest and waist fit well.

Because this alteration is visible, it should be chosen deliberately. With many GERMENS designs, the side slit blends in well because the artistic patterns and colour surfaces visually absorb the alteration. Nevertheless, the length should suit the blouse, the body shape and the personal style.

Test first with fitting blouses

Especially with a 15 cm side slit, checking the fit beforehand is highly recommended. Use the GERMENS try-on service for this. With fitting blouses, the correct basic size can be determined first. Then the side can be marked to check whether 15 cm is really suitable.

When trying on the blouse, it should be checked while standing, sitting and walking. Also take a few steps back from the mirror. This makes it easier to judge whether the proportions, slit height and fall of the blouse look balanced.

Important notes about fit

A side slit is a targeted adjustment for the lower blouse area. It is not intended to compensate for a blouse that is too small overall. If the blouse pulls clearly at the chest, back, stomach or shoulders, a larger size should be selected.
