Clear expansion for more comfort in the lower area

The 4 cm waist expansion per side is a clear alteration for Long sleeve Button-up shirts, blouses and T-shirts when noticeably more width is needed around the stomach, waist or hem. It is especially suitable for fuller body shapes or for men with a fuller stomach.

With 4 cm per side, a matching fabric strip is inserted on the right and on the left. This creates approximately 8 cm more total circumference in the lower part of the garment.

Matching insert in the original design

For the expansion, the side seam is carefully opened. A narrow fabric strip matching the product design is then inserted on both sides. This is especially important for colourful shirts, patterned blouses or eye-catching T-shirts so that the alteration looks harmonious.

The alteration is mainly intended for the stomach and hem area. It changes the chest area only slightly. If the product is too small overall or tight at the top, a larger size should be selected.

Check size and width beforehand

A 4 cm expansion per side should be assessed carefully. The best way to do this is with the try-on service. This helps determine whether shoulders, chest and length fit and only the lower area needs to be expanded.

Normal cotton shrinkage should also be considered. Cotton may react slightly in length or width during washing. With GERMENS cotton fabrics, this shrinkage is around 2 to 3 %. If you want a very precise fit, the expansion can also be ordered after the first washes.
