Maximum expansion for stomach, waist and hem

The 5 cm waist expansion per side is the strongest version of this alteration. It is suitable when a Long sleeve Button-up shirt, blouse or T-shirt is clearly too tight around the stomach, waist or hem, while shoulders, chest and length generally fit well.

Because the expansion is made on both sides, 5 cm on the right and 5 cm on the left create approximately 10 cm more total circumference. This alteration can be especially useful for men with a fuller stomach or when significantly more width is needed around the middle of the body.

Fabric insert matching the design

For the alteration, the side seams are opened. A narrow fabric strip is then inserted on each side, from the hem up towards the underarm area. The fabric strip matches the design of the garment. This keeps the look of the Long sleeve Button-up shirt, blouse or T-shirt as consistent as possible, and the insert is hardly noticeable.

The expansion mainly affects the lower part. The chest area becomes only slightly wider. If there is already strong tension around the chest, a waist expansion is not enough. In that case, a larger size should be selected.

Choose carefully and test first
